Don’t Leave Us Out Again: A Call to Invest in Family Child Care in NYC highlights the urgent need for New York City to prioritize and fully fund family child care (FCC) as an essential part of the city’s early childhood system. This report describes how FCC educators—who serve infants, toddlers, and families with nontraditional work hours—remain underfunded, undervalued, and frequently excluded from major policy and investment decisions. It outlines persistent challenges, including unstable contracts, delayed payments, rising operating costs, and inequitable reimbursement structures.
